Hey ladies! Let’s have some real talk! What exactly is going on in your life right at this moment? Do you feel as if everything that can go wrong is going wrong right now? Is your money funny? Is your family acting crazy? Are you feeling weak in your body? Is your spirit broken? Are you watching your relationship crumble? Are your children on your last nerve? Is your job stressing you out? Do you feel lonely, depressed and miserable? Do you know that you’ve been obedient, but it seems as if God is punishing you? There’s no need to answer me; just ponder on those questions. If your answer is yes on two or more accounts, then it is safe to say that you have trouble on the right and on the left. You may even feel that everything that is going on has the power to consume you. With “stuff” piled up on the right and “stuff” piled up on the left, it’s hard to see how your issues won’t overtake you. Again, let’s have some real talk– I’m here to tell you that what is going on all around will NOT take you out! Yeah, I hear what you are saying: “Kristen, you don’t know the hell that is breaking loose in my life right now!” You are absolutely right. But what I do know is a God who will allow hell to break out all around you and not allow it to consume you.
Throughout the Bible there are many examples of God keeping His children while tumultuous things were happening all around them. Many will cite Job as an example, while others may offer Joseph the dreamer. However, I want to shift your mind to a more illustrative example of such protection in God’s Word.
“As Pharaoh approached, the Israelites looked up, and there were the Egyptians, marching after them. They were terrified and cried out to the LORD…
Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and all that night the LORD drove the sea back with a strong east wind and turned it into dry land. The waters were divided, and the Israelites went through the sea on dry ground, with a wall of water on their right and on their left.” (Exodus 14:10, 21 NIV)
There the Israelites were in a foreign land, with Pharaoh on their tracks and their sense of freedom being threatened. I can imagine that a mirage of feelings began closing in on them. They were scared, hopeless, angry and a host of other things. Just like you, the Israelites probably felt like everything, including the kitchen sink, was being thrown at them. To top it off, God parted the waters so that there was a wall of water on both sides of them. Imagine how daunting that was! If I were a part of that number, I would have been thinking, “Does God really expect me to walk through this?” As I looked up at the height of the water, I would’ve said to myself, “The ‘stuff’ that is surrounding me has the potential to drown me; I can’t walk through this!” But the Israelites marched through the walls of liquid on dry land and not a soul was consumed by the waters.
What’s interesting here is that God orchestrated all of the “stuff” that was going on around the Israelites. All of the things that they thought were meant to break them were being used by God for His divine purposes. Earlier in verse 4 of the same chapter, the Lord said to Moses, “And I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, and he will pursue them. But I will gain glory for myself through Pharaoh and all his army, and the Egyptians will know that I am the LORD.” (Exodus 14:4 NIV) A few verses down, God told him, “Raise your staff and stretch out your hand over the sea to divide the water so that the Israelites can go through the sea on dry ground. I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians so that they will go in after them. And I will gain glory through Pharaoh and all his army, through his chariots and his horsemen.” (Exodus 14:16-17) You see, God strategically designed the horrific circumstances but He never intended for it to cause harm to His children. And so it is with you, my friend! Everything that you are experiencing right now is just a set-up! He is going to get the glory out of your situation too. I know that you may not be able to see past the walls of issues that have closed in on you, but trust God and walk THROUGH your issues. Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the LORD will bring you today…” (Exodus 14: 13 NIV) Honey, none of the things that you are experiencing right now were designed to kill you or your spirit!
Dear Daddy,
I thank You because I know that I am only passing through this situation. While I may not know today why my world is crumbling, I trust Your perfect plan for my life. Endow me with the strength to endure the process. Please give me the courage to walk through even though it looks scary on all sides. Guide me, oh Lord! In Jesus’ Name, Amen!
Ladies, today I EMPOWER you to walk THROUGH your “stuff”. Even though it looks as if your circumstances are going to overtake you, I EMPOWER you to remember that God’s got you. He will not allow that “stuff” to take you out!
What walls are you choosing to walk through today? Share your story with us below!

Thank you so much for this post.. I’ve been feeling down this week and this morning I decided to let Joyce and Joel speak to my.spirit and your post just complemented them. I really needed to read this today. Thank you!
I am glad that God spoke an on-time word to you! Be encouraged during your difficult times my sister!
AWESOME message! Right on time. Thank you!!!
Praise God!
Thank you for that encouragement! I most of the time keep a smile or hold back but I felt like screaming last night, last week so I needed that right now…I feel like I’m being persecuted and tried on every side but I am realizing thru His Word that He is testing me, building my character, and getting the Glory all the while! So I just have to trust Him.
Yesss! This past week has been so trying. Im usually the encourager but as things have been going on, Ive found myself discouraged. But I realized that the Lord is answering my prayers! I asked to be stripped, humbled, and molded for His glory, so He can use me as He pleases. All the hidden fear and unbelief in me was hindering Him from what He needs. He loves us so much to give us grace. And you said it perfect, complete trust!
Tannika,
I know just what you mean. I am usually the one that holds it all together as well. Never wanna let anyone see me sweat! But I appreciate those times when I can just let loose around Him and cry out to Him….THEN get back to it and walk through whatever is going on around me. That character building you mention is soooo important! I am glad that He is building you up for His purposes. Im excited about your future!
THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You are welcome, welcome, welcome! Thanks for reading!
Thank you Sis. Kristen for that Empowerment Mesage for today. I have learned over the course of my life that the only to come out on the other side is to go through. Going back is never an option. God orchestrating the “stuff” is an excellent way of observating the situation. God gets the glory and we have learned a valuable lesson in the process. Oh! what a planner! To my sisters in Christ, be encouraged and stay in the Word of God for your strength and healing.
Ms. Geri,
Thank you for your wisdom! GOING BACK IS NEVER AN OPTION! Love it!
Yazzzzzzz! I will not be consumed by worry or doubt!! I REMEMBER what God has done, and He does not change!! Amen!!!
A worry wall on one side, a doubt wall on the other….BUT faith on the journey is keeping you moving!
Kristen! Yes, preach this word because I know I’m here.Another example that God would keep you from the flood is Noah. God warned and instructed Noah that a flood was coming so what did he do? He reacted in FAITH! The others didnt see the flood, but Noah faith prepared him way head of time! YES,YES,YES our God is able!
Thats another great example Lisa! Thanks for sharing. God Bless!
Great EmpowerMoment!
Thanks Chaunte`! And thanks for your continued support of EM! We heart you!
