You Gotta Be STRONG

This song is one of my favs by Des’ree. Every time I hear it I feel EMPOWERED. Check out the lyrics and verses that I was able to pair with it:

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 9:1 NIV)

Listen as your day unfolds
Challenge what the future holds
Try to keep your head up to the sky
Lovers they may cause you tears
Go ahead release your fears
Stand up and be counted
Don’t be shamed to cry

“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.” (Ephesians 6:10 NIV)

You gotta be
You gotta be bad
You gotta be bold
You gotta be wiser
You gotta be hard
You gotta be tough
You gotta be stronger
You gotta be cool
You gotta be calm
You gotta stay together
All I know all I know is love will save the day

“And the child grew and became strong; he was filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was on him.” (Luke 2:40 NIV)

Time asks no questions
It goes on without you
Leaving you behind if you can’t stand the pace
The world keeps on spinning
Can’t stop it if you try to
The best part is danger staring you in the face

Sometimes we go through so much and we just feel like we are about to BREAK-DOWN. What we need to remember is that God is giving us strength daily. He is able to sustain us and we must trust and believe that whatever we are facing we will come through. I know that the battles may seem endless but it is our duty to press forward and walk into the destiny that God has for us. We cannot be afraid of what is on the other side. We must trust and believe that God’s plan is much better than the one we have.

Dear Daddy,

I ask that You keep building me up where I am weak. Strengthen me daily. I know that Your power is greater than all so please walk with me and when I feel like giving up help me to see that the race is not given to the swift but to those who endure!

Today I EMPOWER you to stay STRONG. No matter what you are facing I send PERSERVERANCE your way. May God give you the strength to continue your walk.
