Faith, Health/Sickness, Trials, Trusting God

Blinded By What I See

Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.  This is what the ancients were commended for. Hebrews 11:1-2 NIV

Confidence in what we hope for, that is the very definition of faith. Do you have confidence that God will provide you a way out of “no way,” that He will bring forth that dream that has been laying dormant in your mind? We sometimes are blinded by what we see in the natural. Our current circumstances block us from grasping hold of that vision that God has given us. More often than not, what happens is you are the only person that can see that vision. People think you are not being realistic, and some may not only be unsupportive, but try and hinder you from moving forward.

What are you visualizing in your life? A trouble child returning home? A call back from your dream job during a recession? Home ownership when everyone in your family is from the projects? Those are all things that in the natural seem impossible. God is glorified in the impossible, for HE is a GOD of impossible things! It was impossible for Mary, a virgin, to conceive a child yet through the Holy Spirit she gave birth to our Savior (Luke 1: 35-38). It was impossible for David to be King; in fact his father didn’t even call him in from the fields when Samuel was looking to anoint a new king (I Samuel 16:11-13). It was impossible for Jesus to raise Lazarus from the dead (John 11). But Jesus raised Lazarus, a man dead and buried for four days! Are you trying to convince me that HE cannot do something amazing in your life today?

For over three months I have been following the story of a little girl named Starla who has AML Leukemia. She is a three-year-old little ray of sunshine in the life of her loving and devoted parents. On January 3, she was clinically dead for a few minutes (which must have felt like a lifetime for her parents), but she was revived and is currently in PICU as I write this EmpowerMoment. Why does this story matter? Because her parents were told that their little girl would not make it. In the natural all hope seemed lost, but in the face of adversity the family turned towards God and asked for prayers. Everyday her mother writes the most encouraging messages; everyday she stands on God’s Word. Her mother’s faith has grown this one child’s story into one that now 2,000 people are following on Facebook. Through this most difficult time in her life she is still glorifying GOD. The doctors told her that it was impossible for her daughter to live, but her little girl is still holding onto LIFE. Follow her progress: Team Starla Support Page

What are you holding onto, the promises of God or the words of mere men?

Dear Daddy,

We thank You for allowing us to come before You, because if we are able to pray to You it means You have sustained us for yet another day. Lord, sometimes our vision gets blurred by what we see in the natural but we ask the Holy Spirit to help us see all situations as You would have us to. When discouraged bring forth a Word to sustain us Lord. Help our situation bring You glory. Our entire existence is to do nothing more than that. Keep our minds stayed on that fact. We pray for others who are currently being attacked physically, emotionally, spiritually, financially and mentally and ask that You free them from their burdens. We praise You in advance for hearing and answering our prayers. In Jesus’ Name, Amen!

Ladies, I EMPOWER you to train yourself to look beyond your current circumstances and see exactly what God is doing behind the scenes. Do not let this year be yet another year you claimed greatness only to be sidetracked by what you currently see around you. Faith is confidence in what we have hoped for. Be confident in God and in His Word for your life.
