Who’s on one, you ask? The devil…
On January 1, 2012, I told myself that this would be my year. It’s my season. It’s finally my time to reap my rewards, to see increase, and to be favored beyond belief! Yep, that was me claiming it in advance and just like that the devil starting planning his attack. For instance, today I’m terribly late finishing my EmpowerMoment, my bills are past due, my body is aching, my throat is sore, my head hurts and to top it off a guy that I’ve been involved with for two years has taken me on an emotional roller coaster ride. Now, I’m trying to get over it all. I’m a HOT MESS RIGHT NOW!
Once the enemy began launching his attacks, I started expecting it more and said, “Devil, you will not win.” I started fasting and praying: Be merciful unto me, O God be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in thee: yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast. I will cry unto God most high; unto GOD that performeth all things for me. He shall send from heaven, and save me from the reproach of him that would swallow me up. Selah. (Psalm 57:1-3 KJV)
When I say that the devil is on one, he is trying his best to make me think that there is no way God is going to step in and save me. He thinks just because God has me in a tough preparation stage that I should not praise Him. WELL, UGLY DEVIL YOU ARE WRONG!!! Matthew 7:7 says, “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. (KJV) I’m doing just what the Word says. So devil, you may be on ONE, but I’m on my knees and God has already worked it ALL out. I believe that! In His time He will give me ALL of my heart’s desires. NOW TAKE THAT YOU DEVIL!
I received this exchange recently and felt that it fit what I was going through perfectly:
Me (in a tizzy): God, can I ask you something?
Me: Promise you won’t get mad?
GOD: I promise.
Me (frustrated): Why did you let so much stuff happen to me today?
GOD: What do you mean?
Me: Well, I woke up late.
Me: My car took forever to start.
Me (growling): At lunch, they made my sandwich wrong and I had to wait.
Me: On the way home, my phone went dead, just as I picked up a call.
GOD: All right.
Me (loudly): And to top it all off, when I got home, I just wanted to soak my feet in my foot massager and relax, but it wouldn’t work. Nothing went right today! Why did You do that?
GOD: Well let me see…The death angel was at your bed this morning and I had to send one of the other angels to battle him for your life. I let you sleep through that.
Me (humbled): Oh…
GOD: I didn’t let your car start because there was a drunk driver on your route that might have hit you if you were on the road.
Me (ashamed): Oh…
GOD: The first person who made your sandwich today was sick and I didn’t want you to catch what they have; I knew you couldn’t afford to miss work.
Me (embarrassed): Oh…
GOD: Your phone went dead because the person that was calling was going to give a false witness about what you said on the call. I didn’t even let you talk to them so you would be covered.
Me (softly): I see God
GOD: Oh, and that foot massager, it had a short that was going to throw out all of the power in your house tonight. I didn’t think you wanted to be in the dark.
Me: I’m sorry God.
GOD: Don’t be sorry, just learn to trust me in all things, the good and the bad
Me: I WILL trust You God.
GOD: And don’t doubt that my plan for your day is always better than your plan
Me: I won’t God. And let me just tell You God, thank You for everything today.
GOD: You’re welcome child. It was just another day being your God and I love looking after my children.

You see and know all things. You see my pain, my struggle, and my efforts. I know that the devil despises those who worship You, but Heavenly Father, please continue to guide me, because I know that my battles are not my own. I love You and I will stand and wait for You! In Jesus’ Name, Amen!
Ladies, I EMPOWER you to shout to that devil, “I’m taking back what you stole from me!” He will try and stop you and make you doubt God, but with God ALL things are possible! I love you all! Pray for me and I will be praying for you!
