Who am I? Not the I that I am, but the I that God has destined me to be. Am I supposed to only be a good daughter, sister, worker, teacher, servant, mother, and wife? What is God’s destiny for my life? I have heard many people state that they are living on God’s purpose and know His destiny for their life, but what about those that have not found their purpose and do not know who they are in Christ? “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” (Jeremiah 1:5 NIV) The Lord knows who He wants us to be long before we do. Even as we struggle in figuring out who and what we are supposed to be God already knows.
So I pose the question again: How do we know what our purpose/destiny is? How do we make sure that we do not allow our actions to keep us from where God wants us to be? First of all, you must know that God works in order. If you are thinking of doing something that is bred out of chaos, know that it is not a part of your destiny. Secondly, God also likes to take credit. “To the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen.” (Jude 1:25 NIV) If you are embarking upon something that will not ultimately give God the glory, then once again it is not part of the destiny He has for you. Thirdly, if you are thinking about doing something that feels like God in the physical, but not the spiritual you may want to re-think your decision.
Once you have a close relationship with God you are able to seek Him and His will for your life. To know whether something is of God or not, work on getting to the place where God is able to show you His will for your life. “In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3:6 NIV) Seek God in all things you do, all the things you contemplate and all the decisions you make.
I pray that You will guide every area of my life so that I can see You in everything that I do. I pray that I will be able to know Your will for my life and live that. Help me to allow Your purpose to be my purpose that I may work with You instead of working against You. I ask You, Daddy, to allow me to be able to walk in my destiny knowing that it is what You have for me. Thank You that no weapons formed against me shall prosper if it’s Your will for my life. In Jesus’ Name, Amen!
I EMPOWER you to seek God in ALL your actions. I urge you to pray and find out what God has for you and to seek His will for your life instead of your own. I EMPOWER you to come closer to the Lord and be mature enough to know that your will may not always be God’s will.
