God's Promises, God's Protection, Trusting God

I Got You

After watching Whitney Houston’s powerful homegoing celebration, I’ve reflected on Pastor Marvin Winans’ sermon.  He had several “Hallelujah” moments; however, there was one moment that stayed with me.   When he talked about the goodness of God and how God is always there for us, he broke it down in a way that we all could understand.  He said God would simply tell us, “I Got You.”

I’ve had friends and family tell me, “I Got You” during occasions where I may have forgotten something or didn’t have what I needed. I have been there for someone else and said those same words.  We trust family and friends when they say those words.  We say ‘okay’, and we don’t worry anymore about it; but, when it comes to our Heavenly Father, it’s hard for us to be patient when God is saying to us, “I Got You.”

The Lord says, I will guide you along the best pathway for your life.  I will advise you and watch over you. (Psalms 32:8 NLT)

I took that phrase and applied it to the different areas in my life.  I started thinking about my financial situation and then I heard God say, “I Got You.”  I took all my years of foolish relationships and now while I pray for a husband, I can hear God say, “I Got You.”  I’m smiling right now because I feel His presence and His touch telling me, “I Got You.”

He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will not be shaken. (Psalms 62:6 NLT)

No eye has seen no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him. (1 Corinthians 2:9 NLT)

Dear Daddy,

As I travel in this season, continue to help me grow in Your word, to obey You and trust You.  When I want to give up, speak to me, so I will stand strong and wait on You.  You’re my everything God and I love You.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen!

Ladies, I EMPOWER you to believe God when He says, “I Got You.”  No matter what your situation may be, He wants to overwhelm you with His goodness and amaze you with His faithfulness!  Repeat this daily: My latter shall be greater than my former because I trust You Lord and I will not be moved by what I see.

And God says, “I GOT YOU!”
