Loving the unlovable is truly a challenge especially when you know your kindness is being taken for weakness repeatedly.  You also know that God expects you to forgive.  Being in this situation really makes me consider placing my Kingdom citizenship on the shelf, just for a few short moments, and giving this person a piece of my holy-bold mind!!  Then the Holy Spirit says…..Never pay back evil with more evil. (Romans 12:17 NLT) or Don’t let evil conquer you but conquer evil by doing good. (Romans 12:21 NLT)

Then I ask what Peter asked….Then Peter came to him and asked, “Lord, how often should I forgive someone who sins against me?  Seven times?”  “No, not seven times,” Jesus replied, “but seventy times seven!” (Matthew 18:21-22 NLT)  Excuse me, Lord?  Did You just say what I think You said?  I don’t think I heard You.  I need another translation.  Then Peter came up to Him and said, Lord, how many times may my brother sin against me and I forgive him and let it go?  [As many as] up to seven times?  Jesus answered him, I tell you, not up to seven times, but seventy times seven!  (Matthew 18:21-22 AMP)  Forgive AND LET IT GO?!  Lord, I still didn’t hear You! At that point Peter got up the nerve to ask, “Master, how many times do I forgive a brother or sister who hurts me?   Seven?” Jesus replied, “Seven! Hardly.  Try seventy times seven.” (Matthew 18:21-22 the Message)

But God, I DON’T WANNA!  I’m disappointed, hurt, and frustrated.  I feel used.  I don’t wanna forgive.  I want to say what I feel.  I want to get it off my chest!  Why can’t I say what I want?  Dear friends, never take revenge.  Leave that to the righteous anger of God.  For the scripture says, “I will take revenge; I will pay them back,” says the LORD.  (Romans 12:19 NLT)

I’m tired of forgiving!  You can’t get tired, Daughter.  You can’t afford to get tired. Would you like to be released to tormentors?  (Matthew 18:34-35)  No, Lord.  Would you like for Me not to answer when you pray? (Mark 11:25-26)  No, Lord.  Would you like for Satan to get an advantage over you? (2 Corinthians 2:10-11)  Of course not, Lord!  By the way, Daughter, didn’t you say you wanted to be like My Son?  Yes, Lord.  Well why are you complaining about what it takes to be like Him?  Selah (pause and think about it) Ouch, Ouch, Ouch!  But God, I DON’T WANNA!

Dear Daddy,

Please help me to forgive those that constantly mistreat me.  You said ALL things will work out for me so I trust You.  I command unforgiveness, bitterness, and resentment to loose me now in the name of Jesus.  I thank You Lord that I always forgive like You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen!

Ladies, I EMPOWER you to FORGIVE and LET GO!  God is not caught off guard by what happened.  Ask Him for healing and deliverance, and then walk in it!  Confess your hurt, pain, and disappointments in prayer to God; this releases Him to remove them.  I EMPOWER you to go through this process so you can be transformed into His image!

Who or what do you have to release right now to God?  Ask God to give you His grace to forgive others and yourself, if needed.

  1. Sometimes God has to check us and remind us of lurking unforgiveness! I’m glad He does because God forgives us and we are to forgive others! Amen!

  2. The way I felt at about 9:55 A.M. this morning is exactly what this empowermoment was speaking. I was adjusting my attitude to be stank because I don’t understand why people don’t treat me how I treat them sometimes. God sent this EM to encourage me that even if “I don’t wanna” I have to if I am striving to be like Jesus. I thank you for this today!

  3. Great EM! But I really had to comment because that picture is too cute. Thats how I feel a lot of the time! LOL

    1. Great question! It depends because people harbor unforgiveness in different ways. You know when you have forgiven someone when you hear their name or see them and you don’t cringe or anger doesn’t immediately rise on the inside. Also, you know you have forgiven when you don’t constantly rehearse in your mind the incident that caused you harm. Another way to know is when you don’t bring the incident up repeatedly in conversation (constantly talking about it) and/ or allowing it to dictate your actions. Hopefully, this helps. Please feel free to ask more questions if needed @

  4. Unforgiveness is an unclean spirit that attempts to ruin the spiritual life of God’s chosen people. The enemy uses this tactic because he is aware that this blocks blessings, prayers, growth, and power!!!!! In most cases, people desire to release this monster, but can’t due to not knowing what to do. Here are the steps to releasing unforgiveness……..
    1. Acknowledge that its there…….
You can’t get delivered or get help with anything unless you first admit it exists!!!!
    2. Confess it………
You must OPEN your mouth and tell God about it. Yes God knows your heart and thoughts, however you have to release it verbally to Him. Eg…..Father, so-in-so hurt me by doing this when that occured…… Father, my husband hurt me when I found out he wasn’t faithful……Father, my mother hurt me when she abandoned when I was seven……..etc. Then say Father, I release my nother, husband, sister, boss, co-worker, friend to You and I forgive them. (Even though you haven’t, SPEAK IT! Call a thing that be not as though it were Romans 4:17)
    3. Then pray this prayer…….
Father God, in the name of Jesus, I thank You for Your love. I thank You for forgiving me of all my sins. Today, I stand forgiving ________________ for ________________. I command unforgiveness, bitterness, and resentment to loose me and go now in the name of Jesus! I thank You Lord that I have the heart of Christ. I walk in forgiveness today knowing that You fight my battles, vengence is Yours, and ALL things will workout for my good and Your glory! (after the prayer, take a deep breath and blow it out. breathe in through nose and blow out your mouth)
    4. Then make declarations over your life DAILY……
I thank You Lord that my peace and joy is restored!
I thank You Lord that no weapon formed against me shall prosper!
WATCH God’s power over take you and how light you become!!!!
Remember, YOU ARE LOVED BY GOD!!!!!!!
