Who does she think she is?

Beyonce-Super-Bowl-2013-Half-Time-Show-e1359946241285I can’t remember the last time I anxiously waited to attend a Super Bowl party with my husband. Normally, my time spent at an event like this is talking with the other wives who were brought along with their husbands. This year was different though, I was anticipating Beyonce’s half-time performance. Ms. Bey did her thing, honey! She delivered everything her audience wanted. Her singing, stage presence, hair, and everything about her was executed flawlessly and powerfully.

I heard many Christian women criticizing and condemning her performance but that’s not my practice. Instead I chose to applaud and bless. This is how I was EMPOWERED by the half-time performance. I noticed how everyone acknowledged her as “QUEEN B” so I begin to investigate and think of how I view my self and what does the Word of God say about a Queen. The book of Proverbs in Chapter 31 illustrates the characteristics of a Queen. It encourages and promotes a woman of God to act and operate as a Queen.

After reading Proverbs 31:10-31, here is what I envision for a Queen of the Kingdom of God. A queen is filled with the wisdom of God, she suffers, and she sacrifices and becomes beautiful because of it. She proves that she could hold her own kingdom (her home) together. She rules with power in the market place and at home. But she cares deeply about something bigger than herself and that is her commitment to God.

When a woman has owned her worth and value we can see it. I saw that through Beyonce on stage. Regardless of the critics she lives like a Queen, she performs like one, and she is to the world Queen Bey! We can’t look to the world for our standards or for our worth, but we can be reminded to get in the Word of God and find out what He says. Only God can crown us and He already has! For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour. (Psalm 8:5 KJV)

Dear Daddy,

I thank You for choosing us to be royalty and crowning us all as Your Queens. Father, we place You on the throne of our hearts, in our nation, in our homes, churches, and work places. We ask for the grace to rule as wise women and powerful women not by the world’s standard, but by Your kingdom’s. In Jesus’ Name, Amen!

I EMPOWER you on today rule from the power that God has placed in you. The Lord has made you apart of a kingdom of might and power. He is backing you up! I EMPOWER you to no longer let satan, fear, doubt, insecurity, inferiority, immaturity, or irresponsibility rob you of your crown.

What are you doing to transition into the Queen that the Father desires you to be?

  1. Sister Lisa:
“What is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man giveth in exchange for his soul?” Matthew 16:26 We must be very careful whom we acknowledge as our heros.
    Be blessed.

  2. Awesome EM! God is working with me on knowing my worth and exuding that confidence that I am a woman of God and a virtuous woman.
