I’m currently facing a very significant challenge. I don’t have the choice of running to family or friends. Frankly, though challenged, I’m scared! A few days ago, I was flooded by questions in my mind. What if this doesn’t happen? Would people understand? What about those who would criticize me because they didn’t understand? In reality I felt lost, scared, and fearful. Though you may be going through a difficult challenge/test right now or have in the past, I’m pretty sure you can relate to my emotional response. I’m here to day to remind you and myself, God understands!
In 2 Chronicles 20, King Jehoshaphat was facing a seemingly impossible challenge/test. Three nations were coming against Israel to do battle. The King was afraid, but he sought the Lord. And he gathered his people together to seek the Lord. In his prayer in verse 12 ” he said these words: “For we have no power against this great multitude that is coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are upon You.” Then, the Spirit of the Lord came upon Jahaziel, a Levite.
Next, in verses 15-1( paraphrased), “And he said, ‘Listen, all you of Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and you, King Jehoshaphat! Thus says the Lord to you: ‘Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s. Tomorrow go down against them. They will surely come up by the Ascent of Ziz, and you will find them at the end of the brook before the Wilderness of Jeruel. You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, who is with you, O Judah and Jerusalem!’ Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, for the Lord is with you.” Jehoshaphat and the people did exactly what the Lord commanded. Then, he set the people to praise: verse 21 “And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed those who should sing to the LORD, and who should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army and were saying: “Praise the LORD, For His mercy endures forever.” As the people sang and praised, the Lord took action. He set ambushes among the enemy so that they destroyed each other. After that, the people of Israel took the spoil, the scripture says that it took 3 days to carry it all away. After that in verse 30, the scripture says “Then the realm of Jehoshaphat was quiet, for his God gave him rest all around.”
Obviously, my challenge/test is still here, but you know what? I’m praising anyhow! I’m not letting the enemy bully or distract me. Just like Jehoshaphat, I’m taking my rest in the Lord and I will not wait until my challenge/test resolved! I’ll wait until the Lord gives me direction as to what to do next, but whatever happens, I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me.(Phil.4:13 NKJV) !
I thank You for understanding me! I thank You that there is no need for me to edit, sugar coat, or front because You know me! I praise You because You are an all knowing God who is always present ready to help. There is nothing too hard for You Father and You have prepared me to do ALL things through Christ. Lord I ask that You would give me the Spirit of Praise. Elevate me in my praise and worship. I no longer want to praise you because of, but I want to praise You inspite of! I thank You for the victory in advance to every challenge I’m facing. Remind me to stay armored daily and I decree and declare that the blood of Jesus has purchased the good to happen in every area of my life. I ask these things in faith, In Jesus name, AMEN!
I EMPOWER you on today humble yourself and cast your situations on to the Lord, exactly where they belong. You may not know what to do, but I know the one who does know – God! Begin this day forward to praise Him in advance!
