Just A Prayer Away

“I know that there are times in your life when the wheels just seem to turn and uncertainties about your tomorrow seem to grow.” Yolanda Adams

Ladies, I have plenty of stories to share; however, absolutely none of them are beckoning to be told. Instead of reading one of my tales, today I would like you to join with me in prayer.

Dear Daddy,

Today, I come to You as humble as I know how, giving thanks for all that You have already done in my life and grateful for all that You are going to do. You are my rock, my strength and my redeemer. You are a present help in times of trouble and I worship You for being  omniscient, omnipotent and omnipresent. I thank You for sending Your son Jesus to die on the cross for my sins. I thank You Lord for another day to get it right. I don’t take my life for granted. I don’t take the blessings that You have bestowed upon me for granted.

Heavenly father, You informed me in Matthew 18:18 “Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”  You also told me, And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him. (I John 5:14-15 KJV )

With those scriptures as my guide, God I am asking that You release Your spirit of love on this earth. Show us to truly love like You love. Bind up the spirit of conflict that seems to persist and causes us to think of war over peace. As a nation help us to show love to our neighbors and love to each other. Bind up the spirit of discord that exists within our government. Lord, we ask You for resolution between our President and our Congress. God, You know the impact that a government shutdown will have on lives across this nation. You know that we are a resilient people but we are also stretched in our resources. Lord, I ask that in midst of all of this confusion that You remind those in authority to use their power for good. Help them remember Your word that instructs us to take care of the least of these. God I bind any selfishness, arrogance and hate, and I release the spirits of justice, humility and love.

Precious Lord, I rebuke the spirit of violence that has permeated our global culture. As mass murders occur in these United States, I am reminded that the same are occurring globally as people suffer from war on their soil. I ask that You comfort families as they are bereaved, but God I bind the spirit that would cause one to take innocent lives over territory and material possessions. Lord I ask that You release Your angels of protection. I ask that You change hearts and minds. I plead with You to show us resolution from the streets of Chicago to the streets of Syria. Lord, I cry out for the men, women and children who are murdered by their peers and by their government. Lord, I am asking that You dismantle the very institutions that perpetuate this violence from the prison industrial complex to persistent poverty to gang culture and to corrupt power.

Jesus I call on You to show me my role and my purpose to fulfill. Let me not wander aimlessly. Instead show me the impact that I can have and order my steps accordingly. Use me as a vessel to end oppression, alleviate poverty, heal sickness and disease. I don’t want to sit idly. I want to be used by You. God I bind up the spirit of sadness and release joy into my life. I bind up limited resources and release the riches that belong to my Father. God I bind the spirit of depression and release provision to all of those who are struggling with taking care of the basics. I bind up slothfulness and release energy to get the job done. I release good physical, spiritual and mental health over my body and that of my family.

God, I thank You for being a prayer-answerer. I ask that You increase my faith. Help any unbelief that I have in this prayer. I ask that this prayer breaks yokes and sets every reader free from the things that bind them. I thank You for the opportunity to pray. Lord I asked You for all of these things believing that You can and You will do them. In Jesus’ Name, Amen!
