Tired of Trying

“Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also glory in our suffering, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts thought the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.”- Romans 5:1-5 NIV

Have you ever gotten so frustrated that you became tired of trying? Well earlier this week I felt like throwing in the towel. I felt depression come over me. People that know me know that I desire to have a career in Social Services. I’ve been out of college almost four years and I haven’t gotten a job in my field yet. I know I’m not the only college graduate that is going through this. Most jobs in my field require that you have a driver’s license and a vehicle to travel. I don’t have either. At times I get discouraged with applying to jobs because of it. I also get discouraged with my other goals because it seems like when I make a small amount of progress I end up at a standstill.

I told my friends about my situation and asked them if they could help me come up with a year plan so that I can have achievable steps to reach my goals. So far my plan includes getting my driver’s license (that has been one of my goals for the longest), a job in my field, and a car. It’s not a perfect plan but it’s a start. I also plan on creating a vision board so I can have something that I can look at to keep me focused.  I know that despite of the obstacles I’m facing, God will work everything out. I have to have faith.  Sometimes it’s hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel when it looks so dim. I know that in the end with hope, faith and action, I can accomplish anything.

Dear Daddy,

I need You to help me and increase my faith. All I can see are my obstacles. Help me to have faith and not give up. Give me the strength to try even when it seems I’m not getting anywhere. Help me to trust Your will for my life.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Ladies, I EMPOWER you to keep trying despite what the circumstances look like. Ask God to help you to activate your faith and see the bigger picture. Ask God to give you the strength toendure your situation. You will make it!

What situations have you encountered in your life that you wanted to give up on? How did you make it through?
