“Sometimes I feel like giving up
It seems like my best just ain’t good enough
Lord if you hear me, I’m calling you
Do you see, do you care all about what I’m going through
And then he says, one more day, one more step
See I’m preparing you for myself
And when you can’t hear my voice, please trust my plan
I’m the Lord, I see and yes I understand” – Smokie Norful
“I Understand” by Smokie Norful is a very encouraging song. It reminds me that God is there for us when we don’t think he is. Lately, I’ve been on the borderline of depression. I’m trying to figure out how to get from where I am now to the next phase of my life. I have goals that I’m trying to accomplish and it seems as if there are a couple of obstacles that are in the way. Sometimes I feel discouraged when things aren’t moving fast enough and working out the way I want them to. At times I feel like throwing in the towel and I ask myself what is the point of it all.
I have to remind myself the reason why I’m trying to accomplish my goals. I know that God has a plan for my life. Jeremiah 29:11 NIV, states “For I know the plans for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” “I Understand” is a song about a person that is in despair and in the midst of it, God shows up and gives the person the strength to keep moving. The song gives me comfort because it shows me that God cares for me. I can imagine God saying, “Venus I’m here & I care about you.” 1st Peter 5:7 NIV states, “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” God gives me the strength to keep going each day even when I’m not feeling the best emotionally. Isaiah 40:29 NIV states, “He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.”
Thank You for understanding me! I know that You’re there even when it doesn’t seem like it. Give me the strength to keep pushing every day. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
LADIES, I EMPOWER you to hold on despite what your situation looks like. God cares about you! He cares about the things you go through. Whatever the situation is, give it to Him. Wait for Him to show up and give you strength.
