I Need You Now

Lately, I’ve been feeling overwhelmed from everything that’s been going on in my life. I was recently laid off from my job and also found out at that my food stamps were cut off for a reason that wasn’t my fault. I also had to deal with issues from my unemployment claim and worry about medical bills.

When I received my medical medical bills from my surgery that I had in October, that was the straw that broke my back. I had a mini break down about my medical bills because I can’t afford to pay the full amount. My health insurance paid some of the balance but it didn’t cover everything.

I’m in a place where I need God to work in my situation. One of my favorite songs by Smokie Norful is I Need You Now. The chorus of the song says:”I need you now; not a second or another minute/not a hour or another day/ but Lord, I need you right away.”I can definitely relate to that. I think that Smokie Norful wrote the song out of despair from situations that was going on in his life. I have a lot going on and I have been trying to figure out how everything is going to work out. Now, I’m realizing that I need to give everything to God because I can’t carry the weight on my own.

1st Peter 5:7 NIV states, “Cast all of your anxiety on him because He cares for you.”

This scripture reassures me that God really does care about me. He cares about me so much that He wants to take on my burdens. In my despair, I cried out and prayed to God because of how overwhelmed I felt. After I prayed, I felt so much weight lift off of me.

Dear Daddy,

I need You right now. I can’t handle everything that is going on; I give all of my burdens to You. In Jesus’ Name. Amen!

Ladies, I EMPOWER you to call on God every time you feel overwhelmed. Tell God you how you’re feeling. He cares so much about you that He wants to know what is going on with you. He will take on every burden that You have so you won’t have to carry it yourself.

What situations in your life do you need God to intervene?
