Time To Reset

This month is National Poetry Month and in honor and snaps of it, our EmpowerMoments will feature short poems relative to each writer’s topic.  So enjoy and be encouraged!

There are times to be active and even times to lead

And other times to pause, sit back, and breathe

Sometimes God wants you to stop and reflect

He may need you to recharge and reset

“To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.”(Ecclesiastes 3:1 KJV)

Sometimes in life we are so busy moving and trying to make things happen that we start to forget to consult God. We start out following Him and His plans, and then we end up making up our own plans along the way and next thing you know we are trying to take the lead in our own life! At times I believe God will let you go until you burn out. Other times I think He puts you in a place where everything you plan fails and you are stuck in one place wondering why. If you haven’t been there yet, just wait on it. I’m young and I had a lot of things planned out for my future. I just knew where I was going. And as of today none of those plans are my reality.

Currently I am in my reset mode. It’s not what I wanted, but I’m starting to see the purpose in it. When you are in reset mode, you can reflect on where God has brought you from. You can think about what it is that you planned out and see if that lines up with God’s will for your life. Once you find out if it does line up with His will, you can use your time to prepare yourself for when God says go! Having to be still isn’t a waste of time. I’ve realized it’s a great time to prepare for what I can’t see that lies ahead of me! Another benefit is that you learn how to be patient and wait on God. It’s a hard lesson to learn, “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”(Isaiah 40:31 KJV). So if you are in a stand still season or if things are out of control, know that it may be time to stop and reset!

Dear Daddy,

Thank You for allowing me to reset. I know sometimes I get ahead of myself and try to get ahead of You. In this waiting period, I know that You know what’s best for me and You know what lies before me. Help me to remember to take advantage of this reset time and prepare as much as possible. I know You have great things in store for me so I want to be in Your will and ready! In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Ladies, I EMPOWER you to reset today! Make sure that where you are is exactly where God wants you to be. And if there isn’t much action going on, know that this is a time of reflection and preparation. As children of the Kingdom of God, there is no time to waste. We are in preparation to go to battle spiritually for Christ, and so when the time comes we must be ready so that our other brothers and sisters in Christ can reset. Let’s make sure we are ready when God says go!
